Robbery by cutting the grill of a businessman’s house in Narayanganj
Robbers looted cash and gold ornaments from a house in the Pagla Nayamati area of Fatulla, Narayanganj Sadar Upazila, this Monday morning.
A businessman was robbed at gunpoint by cutting the grill of his house in Fatulla, Narayanganj Sadar Upazila. The robbers looted money and gold ornaments. The incident took place in the Pagla Nayamati area of Fatulla early Monday.
The victim, businessman Humayun Kabir, said that he does iron (rod) business in the area. He lives on the third floor of his own three-story house. A group of five to six robbers raided the house around 4:15 am today. They entered the house by cutting the grill of the kitchen on the second floor. When they reached the third floor, they held a pistol to his head, took him hostage and tied his hands and feet. He was alone in the house. The robbers broke into the cupboard of the house and looted two lakh taka and 40 bhari worth of gold ornaments.
Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operations) Tarek Al Mehedi told Prothom Alo, “The police have inspected the scene. We are investigating.” Efforts are underway to identify and arrest the robbers by collecting CCTV camera footage.
